| Leah
2nd Alto
Leah is the last original Angeltone. Combine her R&B groove with her sultry voice, 16 years of classical piano training, and her love of the guitar and you begin to understand her intimate relationship with music. Her playful, energetic, infectious approach to performing emanates from her experience in singing with several bands, and that constant funky 70’s rhythm that plays in her ear. A ”disco diva“ born a decade too late; give her a solid bass-line and watch out.
From her earliest years in school chorus and church choir, performance has been a driving force in Leah’s life, taking her to the stage in local theater productions to the bright lights of Atlantic City. Leah appeared in two music videos - one of which was directed by Malcolm-Jamal Warner (of The Cosby Show fame) and in 1991 was approached by a major record label, but was unable to commit and had to decline. Throughout the 90's, Leah performed in several New York City bands. In addition, she competed in various singing competitions. In 1999, Leah was courted by a female doo-wop group but again had to decline due to other commitments. Always a lover of harmonies, Leah welcomed the opportunity when it arose again in the form of The Angeltones® in April 2005.
Leah is a nurse and lives in Howell, New Jersey. |
